I've always been in a creative environment: design, software, interiors, writing, art, making, graphics, photography, and gardens. Although, currently, I have an internet retail company.
I've had a broad education and been close to people in dance, ballet, music, opera, theatre, modelling, teaching, TV, movies, and writing ... but I'm very contemporary and like every kind of music, art, cinema, and theatre: no matter how serious, flippant, or bizarre.
I was in a band a long time ago: best described as weird. My piano and guitar playing need a lot of practice.
I'm fairly eco, so aware of recyling, energy, world politics, the environment, human rights, and genetics.
I'm never bored so can enjoy anything, although I try to avoid prejudices, pet-hates, accusations, celebrity gossip, daytime TV, obsessive music niches, and fad-diets.
I've had a lot of affection and romance so don't want a relationship now with someone who has separation or bonding issues. Or has an ex who is still controlling their life.
I don't want to repeat patterns from the past and discount people because of some trivial thing, unfamiliar preference, or social norm. It's no good staying on the usual train, looking at other lives out of the window, until the end of the line.
Being a casual cinema-date or a travel-mate won't be enough. I only want a complete, full, and varied relationship with an interactive partner.
I have my own converted extended cottage, with a field of horses behind. It's three minutes from a market town on the river, and fairly near the sea.
I have a polite, smart, 14-year old so, if you have kids at home, or in your wider family, it would suit him and me. I like being a father: it's the simplest thing.
I haven't said much about the sort of woman I'm drawn to, except that, often, some small gesture, an act of kindness, or a few words will flip the switch. That's how real life used to work: when we all met real people in real places and did real things.
